Designed governance systems spanning IP, NHS patient data, and institutional trust. Led Science and Innovation Audits directly informing national infrastructure investment decisions.

UK Research and Innovation / Research England / Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council — Head of Regional EngagementCo-designed and led early delivery of the £10M Widening Participation in Postgraduate Research Fund. Established governance, risk escalation, and accountability structures across Research England and the Office for Students. Breaking Barriers to Black Academia — FounderBuilt national evidence programme with UKRI, Wellcome Trust, BBSRC, MRC, and Royal Academy of Engineering. Convened 140+ participants, reaching 500+ contributors and senior stakeholders across STEM. Produced the UK's most comprehensive evidence base on racial equity in academia, influencing policy and funding practice across major research bodies.

For organisations facing transformation challenges that cannot be resolved within a single team or institution, the Infrastructure Studio delivers specialist, accountable, end-to-end systems redesign.I convene and coordinate expert teams across governance, technical architecture, stakeholder alignment, evidence systems, and policy translation to build operational infrastructure that scales — and endures beyond funding cycles or leadership transitions.The Studio model is reserved for high-risk, high-impact initiatives. I take on a limited number of engagements each year to ensure strategic depth, delivery discipline, and accountability.

How the Studio Works

My role is Systems Architect and Delivery Lead.
I hold end-to-end accountability for translating strategic intent into executable infrastructure, coordinating specialist expertise into coherent delivery, maintaining trust across stakeholders, and ensuring outcomes embed beyond the engagement.I do not maintain a standing team. Instead, I assemble specialist capability around each challenge, including governance design, evidence and monitoring systems, stakeholder coordination, technical implementation, and policy translation.The Studio builds capability as it delivers. Your organisation learns the methodology, governance embeds, and you retain ownership of the systems created.

Studio Delivery Model

  • Phase 1: Diagnostic & Design (Weeks 1–6)

  • Define context, constraints, and success criteria. Map stakeholders and decision rights. Identify risks. Design governance and delivery architecture. Assemble delivery capability.

  • Phase 2: Build & Coordinate

  • Deliver live systems under real-world constraints. Coordinate specialist expertise. Manage trade-offs. Maintain trust and accountability. Adapt based on evidence and feedback.

  • Phase 3: Embed & Transition (Final 3 months)

  • Transfer ownership. Embed governance and operational systems. Document methods and frameworks. Ensure continuity beyond funding or leadership change.
